Poolar: The New App for Mobile Defect Management
The new Poolar app marks the arrival of the next generation of mobile defect management: with a contemporary design, simpler to use and designed for continuous development. In its first version, it initially focuses on workflows relating to defect management and can be used alongside the existing poolarPROJECT app, which can still be used for defect management and additional functions such as the site diary or photos.

Why a New App?
The app offers a modern, user-centred approach to defect management. At the same time, it lays the groundwork for innovative features such as AI-assisted defect detection and the ability to draw on images. A user interface that has been completely overhauled and redesigned workflows ensure a contemporary user experience.
Who is the New App Suitable For?
The new app is suitable for customers who meet the technical requirements, are already using the existing defect management system, or would like an improved user experience. It is particularly suitable if the current focus is on defect management and other functions, such as the site diary, are not a priority at present.
In future, the app will be expanded to include further modernised features such as a site diary, photos and checklists.

AI‑Powered Defects Presented as a Use Case

How can AI be used at the points where information is generated in a construction project? At the 2026 KI Gipfel in Stuttgart, Tobias Skarman, CTO and Managing Director of Poolarserver GmbH, presented a specific use case together with Dr Markus Eisel from integration partner valantic.
The focus was on the mobile recording of defects directly on site: a defect is photographed and described verbally. The app combines the image and voice information and organises it in a structured format for further documentation and processing.
The optional AI support reduces the need for manual input on mobile devices and improves the starting point for the subsequent defect handling process. The project team retains responsibility for checking, assessing and making decisions.
